CAMP OF CHAMPIONS 2018: A RECAP

Camp of Champions 2018 was a blast! This year was a huge success, and once again, it was our largest camp ever with 995 attendees (that's 162 more than last year)!

Below are some of the fun facts we have to share on just some of what happened at Camp this year!

Friday Night, we enjoyed a Welcome Party complete with Chick-fil-A for dinner, bouncy houses, face painting, snow cones, and more!

Saturday and Sunday, in between lake fun and fellowship, the kids enjoyed class time and sports clinics, while the parents received invaluable training from the experts!

This year we welcomed attorney Kimberlee D. Norris, who led our foster parents in a discussion about sexual abuse awareness. Many agreed that it was an intense, but helpful conversation. We're grateful for her willingness to share.

We had seven options for sports clinics this year—football, gymnastics, arts & crafts, basketball, soccer, baseball, and cheerleading. The kids met in these clinics three times throughout the weekend, and on Saturday got the chance to show off their new skills to their parents at Showcase. Each child received a medal for their hard work, and there was no doubt by their reactions, that each child felt so special!

A special thanks to John Fitzgerald, Hal Langston, Mike Bradley, Taylor Strickland, Pathways counselor Jen Napper, Candice Trusty, Rory McKean, and Paige Allison for leading our sports clinics this year!

Sunday morning, we held a worship service for all our families to join together and pray, worship, and hear a message from former ABCH President Paul Miller. It was a sweet time of fellowship.

Thank you to each foster parent and house parent, volunteer, donor, ambassador, trustee, church partner, and staff member for your time, talents, and resources shared at Camp this year to make it so great for our families!
